Department of Art and Science

We educate well-rounded designers who can combine the latest technologies with monozukuri principles and develop the full potential of media.

Developments in computer technology have spawned the rapid appearance of new information and machine systems that utilize new mechanisms and multimedia. The Department of Art and Science vigorously pursues a new field that synthesizes these leading edge technologies and design. While utilizing advanced technologies, students consider from many perspectives the elements that make up beautiful design concepts that are inspiring and appeal to all the senses. We educate our graduates to enter the workforce with the ability to create original designs and ready to circulate their imaginative ideas that are unconstricted by existing social conventions.

Specialized Concentrations

We have developed a broad curriculum with courses that cover subjects ranging from the fundamentals of monozukuri to computer-related technologies in order to prepare graduates to enter the workforce with a refined design sensibility and an understanding of and ability to utilize media design. Three concentrations are offered: screen imaging, information and communication.
