An older husband and a young wife - she has a lover, who becomes known to her husband. In the end, he stabs his wife and her lover to death.

This is a typical setup for a daytime soap opera or a two-hour suspense drama, but this opera, "I pagliacci" is exactly what is described above.

This time, Mr. KOBORI plays the role of Beppe, a handsome man who belongs to a traveling troupe headed by an elderly husband of Nedda, Canio. Beppe plays "Arlecchino" in the play and seduces "Columbina," dressed as Canio's young wife Nedda. The "Pagliaccio" (the clown), dressed as Canio, senses that "Columbina" has a lover, and presses her to tell him his name. However, he gradually becomes unable to distinguish between the play and reality, stabs Nedda (who pretends to be Columbia) to death, and then stabs her lover to death when he comes to her rescue. This ridiculous content of opera is condensed into 70 minutes.
