Ms. Hoshi graduated in piano from Showa Academia Musicae and also completed the honors course. She was awarded an honor prize at the graduation ceremony. After serving as the college’s trainee accompanist, she entered Rossini Academy in Italy directed by A. Zedda on a scholarship from the Shimoyakawa Keisuke Foundation, later gaining a diploma. Ms. Hoshi went into Il Conservatorio di Musica “Arrigo Boito,” specializing in accompaniment of opera. She attained a perfect score on each critical exam throughout her college studies and was unanimously chosen as the highest ranking student. She served not only as an accompanist for the same college but as a pianist at both Taranto and Vicenza theaters. Since returning to Japan, she has been serving as a pianist for opera practices and vocal concerts. Ms. Hoshi is a piano instructor for promising opera singers at the Japan Opera Foundation and a pianist at the Opera Studio of New National Theatre, Tokyo.
