IWABUCHI Keiko graduated from the Piano Course of the Tamagawa University College of Arts with the highest distinction. She received her undergraduate degree from the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" di Milano, and then became to receive a master's degree as a korrepetitor from said conservatory. She further studied at the Opera Studio of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, completing their Korrepetitor Course. During her time in Italy, she was the official accompanist for competitions, as well as an accompanist pianist for many stages and master classes. In 2011, she moved to Germany and began training at the Dresden Opera House (Semperoper) with a grant from the Gotoh Memorial Foundation. After completing her training, she continued as a Korrepetitor for two seasons. Since returning to Japan in 2014, she has been involved in a variety of performances while teaching younger students at the New National Theatre Opera Studio, Tokyo. She has high language skills and a wide repertoire, and her traditional interpretation of performances backed up by her experience in opera houses and her dedicated performances have won her high acclaim from leading conductors and singers at home and abroad. She was awarded the 22nd Gotoh Cultural Award Music (Opera) Division for Newcomers in 2011.
