Cheryl Studer’s startling and brilliant career began at a very early age. Her promising talent caught Leonard Bernstein’s attention, and she debuted at Tanglewood in 1976.
She then went to Austria and studied with Hans Hotter,who persuaded her to stay in Europe for the year and study with him in Vienna.
Based in Europe, she has sung in the most prestigious opera houses in the world: the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Opéra de Paris, Royal Opera House, La Scala, New York Metropolian, Wiener Staatsoper.
Ms. Studer’s repertoire encompasses more than 90 roles, from Mozart’s Königin der Nacht to Wagners’ Sieglinde; from Verdi’s Odabella to Gounod’s Marguerite and the great heroines of Richard Strauss.
