Eytan PESSEN studied piano, accompaniment, musicology and composition at the Tel Aviv University, the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and at the Juilliard School, when he started his career as coach of the Metropolitan Opera Young Artist’s Programme. Concerts at the Berlin Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw, the Rheingau- Miskolc- and Bad Wildbad Festivals, as well as the opera theaters of Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Dresden and Warsaw. He was artistic consultant to Teatro Massimo Palermo and Teatro San Carlo Napoli. Before that he was opera director of the Semperoper Dresden, casting director of the Stuttgart Opera and artistic advisor to the Ruhr 2010 European capital of culture.
Eytan PESSEN is currently a busy teacher of singing and piano, teaching regularly at Oper Frankfurt, IOS Zürich, IOS Hamburg, Dutch National Opera, Staatsoper Stuttgart and the Volksoper Wien, where he is also artistic consultant. His voice and piano students appear in many of the world's great theatres. Masterclasses at the Ibáñez Atkinson foundation in Chile, the Opera academy of the Polish national opera, the Académie of the Opéra Bastille in Paris, Theaterakademie München, Mikhailovsky theatre, Scuola d’Opera in Bologna, Festival FAOT in Sonora and Opera de Bellas Artes in Mexico, Richard Tucker foundation NY, Turku Festival, Meistersinger Akademie in Germany, Oper Graz and the San Francisco opera.
He was on the jury of the Stanislaw Moniuszko Vocal competition, Belvedere competition, Antonina Campi competition, Concorso Lirico Salvatore Licitra in Milan, Voci Verdiane in Busetto, Marcello Giordani competition in Catania, the Aviv competition in Tel Aviv, El Premio de Canto Ciudad de Bogotá, The Solomiya Krushelnytska Opera Singers Competition in Lviv, Concorso Internationale di Assisi, Concorso Aslico in Como and the Queen Sonja international vocal competition.
