"Turandot" was never completed by Puccini. At the premiere at La Scala in Milan, The completed part only was performed. After the composer Alfano supplemented the work, the play with the ending part was done from the second performance. This ending was controversial, so the conductor Riccardo Chailly asked the composer Luciano Berio to make a new ending. This time performance is with Berio's ending. The Berio's ending version was premiered in Japan by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in June 2005. Looking forward to comparing this version with the common version by Alfano.

This performance is a co-production with the Grand Théâtre de Genève in Switzerland, and it was performed in Geneva earlier, in June 2022. The local performance in Geneva seems well received, and the flyer with some futuristic rays of light flying around is eye-catching. Along with JO's beautiful voice, you can't wait to see the new production. Don't miss it!
