浜松・久留女木にゆかりのある「竜宮小僧伝説」を元に、シテ方観世流・梅若猶彦が書き上げた新作能。
令和元年10月10日『第19回静岡文化芸術大学特別公開講座』にて創作能「竜宮小僧」を初演。

「この物語は、都に住んでいる僧侶が夢を見るところから始まる。彼は夢の中で少年の声を聞く。
「僕は遠江の国、久留女木の山中に一人で住む者だが、遊び相手もなく寂しい毎日が続いている。
どうか私を弔ってほしい。」－僧侶は弔いという言葉が気にかかり、久留女木への旅を決意する。」

The Noh play “Ryugu Kozo: The Boy from the Dragon Palace in the Abyss” was written and performed by Noh master Umewaka Naohiko in 2019. This bilingual compilation of works consists of the Noh play lyrics, story context and Dr. Umewaka’s introspective of his performance.
