Application Procedures – Exchange Program

The student’s home university should make the nomination of the student by e-mail at ryugaku@suac.ac.jp with the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Gender
  • Faculty at the home university
  • Exchange period at SUAC

Please note that Japanese language proficiency equivalent to "N2 level" (JLPT) or higher is necessary.

After the nomination, the student’s home university should send to SUAC by E-mail following Required Documents:

  • Letter of Recommendation (with an official seal or signature)
  • Form 1[PDF:279.9KB]

     : Application Form (to be filled by the student)
  • Form 2[Excel:128.6KB]

     : Application for Certificate of Eligibility
  • ID Photograph (over 40mm×30mm in data)
  • Copy of the Passport (identification page)
  • Certificate of Enrollment
  • Official Transcript(s)
  • Health Certificate (must be issued within 6 months)

height, weight, BMI/body-mass index, urinalysis (uric protein and urinary sugar), visual acuity check (with naked eye and corrective glasses for each eye), blood pressure, chest x-ray, exam by an internist

If the original documents are written in other than English, translation into Japanese or English must be attached.

We accept electronic documents including photo and will not need hard copies.
IMPORTANT:At the moment of subscription, the student must inform the name of the subjects he/she wishes to attend during the exchange.
Depending on classroom capacities, some professors put priorities on students belonging to their departments or may use a lottery system to select students.

Deadlines for nominations and candidate submission:

Spring Semester (Apr – Aug): Nomination – December 1th, Application – December 20th
Fall Semester (Oct – Mar): Nomination – May 1st, Application – May 20th
