Professor/Dr. Tetsuo Kuramoto is a specialist in Teacher Education from the perspectives of school management and leadership, curriculum, and instruction. He is interested in the research concepts of Knowledge Management, Lesson Study, Curriculum Management, and Action Research. He was the chief professor of masters and doctorate programs for in-service teachers at Yokohama National University, Japan.
Also, he is actively contributing to various educational institutions, including as a chief national evaluator of teachers’ master programs for the Ministry of Education in Japan (MEXT). He is an Ed.D. examiner for the Doctoral program at the University of Technology Sydney and the Hong Kong University of Education. Further, he was chosen as the best academic and educational contributor for his previous university among professors who had already earned academic awards from various majors in 2010.
He is the author of "Lesson Study and Curriculum Management in Japan (2021)", which discusses the conceptual structure between lesson study and curriculum management and analyzes the educational effectiveness from the perspective of action research. (Published in English)
Conversely, he authored "A Study of Service-Learning of Curriculum Management in the USA" in his Ph.D. dissertation. The latter was recognized with an academic award from The Japanese Association for the Study of Educational Administration in 2009. (Published in Japanese)
Also, his typical academic webinar is below. He articulates the strategies to facilitate and sustain Lesson Study for teachers’ knowledge creation from the knowledge management perspective.
