メッセージ

『英語を上達させたいのですが、何かいい方法ありますか？』とよく学生から質問を受けますが、私の答えはいつも同じです。

秘訣や手っ取り早い方法などはありません。日頃の努力こそが必要不可欠です。私は日本に滞在して11年目になりますが、まだ日本語の教室に通っています。勉強に終わりはありません。「継続は力なり」であり、努力こそが一番の近道だと私は思っています。あらゆる方法、あらゆる手段を活用し地道に努力すれば必ず上達することができると信じています。

本や雑誌、インターネットのホームページ等の媒体を読めばおのずと語彙は広がります。操る単語が増えれば自分の言いたい事をはっきりと言えるようになり、言いたい事をきちんと表現できるようになると一段階上のレベルを目指すようになります。そして更に勉強しようとし結果として善循環を生むことになります。

この善循環のサイクルを必然的に作り出し、私が学生の皆さんに指導できる限られた時間の中で効果的に英語を教え、また同時に継続して勉強をする大切さも教えて行けたらと思っています。本学を卒業しても継続して勉強する、というモチベーションを持ってもらえた時、わたしの教師としての任務を果たしたと言えるのかもしれません。
